How will I be billed?
If you have insurance and we are contracted with your insurance plan, you will be responsible for payment of your copayments at the time of service. In the case of surgery, we require you to pay a surgical deposit toward any coinsurance and/or deductibles that you will owe. Once your insurance carrier has issued their contracted payment, a bill will be generated to you for any additional amounts that you owe. Triangle Orthopaedics participates with the below insurance carriers, among others. Additionally, Triangle Orthopaedics is prepared to handle Workers' Compensation claims with utmost efficiency. If you do not find your insurance group on the list, please call the Billing Office at (919) 220-5567 for verification.

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna Healthcare
  • Medicare/Medicaid
  • Tricare
  • United Healthcare
  • Can I make monthly payments?
We do, in some cases, allow our patients to make monthly payments toward their balances. Our Financial Counselors and Business Office Staff assist patients in establishing "Budget Plans," which indicate the payment amount expected monthly. If you are unable to pay your balance in full when it is due, please contact our Business Office at (919)220-5567, and a staff member will assist you with this matter.

What if my insurance carrier doesn't pay? What is required of them?
We cannot guarantee what your insurance carrier will and will not pay. As always, we look to our patients to understand their benefit packages, which are issued through their employer groups. If you have any questions concerning your insurance benefits, each insurance company has a member service department available for questions. We will send your claims for services rendered at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, PA in to your insurance carrier for you, and will even appeal an unreasonable denial, but there are times when we will need to request and receive your assistance in the processing of your claims. As the services are rendered to you, we do ultimately hold you financially responsible for your balance.

What if I was injured in an automobile accident? Do I have to pay for my charges when I am seen?
Most health insurance carriers will now reimburse providers for expenses incurred related to automobile accidents. We cannot guarantee that your carrier will take care of your claims, and we request that all patients consult their health insurance carrier prior to being seen in our office. We are happy to send your claims in to your carrier for processing, but do ask for your assistance in getting these claims paid. If you do not have any health insurance, then you will be asked to pay for your services at the time that you are seen. If you are unable to pay for your entire visit at the time of service, then you will be required to make a downpayment and establish and maintain a monthly "Budget Plan" during your treatment. Due to the length of time that it takes for liability cases to settle, we are no longer able to wait for cases to be processed in court for payment for your services.
