How will I be billed?

If you have insurance and we are contracted with your insurance plan, you will be responsible for payment of your copayments at the time of service. In the case of surgery, we will require that you pay a surgical deposit on any coinsurance and/or deductibles that you will owe. Once your insurance carrier has issued their contracted payment, a bill will be generated to you for any amounts that you owe.

Can I make monthly payments?

We do in some cases allow our patients to make monthly payments on their balances. These are called "Budget Payments" and are set up through our Financial Counselors and Business Office Staff. If you are unable to pay your entire balance in full when it is due, please contact our Business Office Staff at the numbers listed on the statement and they will work with you on this matter.

What if my insurance carrier doesn't pay what they are supposed to?

We cannot guarantee what your insurance carrier will pay for and what they will not pay for. As always, we look to our patients to understand their benefit packages which are issued through their employer groups. If you have any questions concerning your insurance benefits, there is a member service department at the insurance carrier which will be happy to assist you with any questions that you may have. We will send your claims for services here at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, PA in to your insurance carrier for you and will even appeal an unreasonable denial, but there are times when we will need to ask for and receive your assistance in getting your claims processed. As the services are rendered to you, we do ultimately look to you to be financially responsible for your balance.

What if I was injured in an automobile accident? Do I have to pay for my charges when I am seen?

Most health insurance carriers will now reimburse providers for expenses incurred related to automobile accidents. We cannot guarantee that your carrier will take care of your claims and request that all patients check with their health insurance carrier prior to being seen in our office. We are happy to send your claims in to your carrier for processing but do ask for your assistance in getting these claims paid. If you do not have any health insurance, then you will be asked to pay for your services at the time that you are seen. If you are unable to pay for your entire visit at the time of service, then you will be required to make a downpayment and establish and maintain a monthly "Budget" plan during your treatment. Due to the length of time that it takes for liability cases to be settled, we are no longer able to wait for cases to be settled in court for payment for your services.
