Platelet Rich Plasma Injections

A cutting edge treatment called a Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injection is now offered at Triangle Orthopaedics. This beneficial technique stimulates growth and regeneration of damaged tendons and ligaments. Platelets, a component of the human being's blood plasma, are responsible for releasing proteins known as growth factors, which aid in the body's natural ability to heal itself. During the Platelet Rich Plasma injection procedure, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and inserted in a centrifuge, which spins and forms a high concentration of platelets. The platelet rich blood is then injected back into the patient's problematic site, permitting the most accurate placement. Researchers believe that this procedure has been successful because it essentially uses the body's own healing method to treat tendon and ligament problems. The physicians of Triangle Orthopaedics apply this to many joints of the body including the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. Contact us today for a consultation.

"Being able to access your Orthopedic Urgent Care on a Saturday was a God-send. It was wonderful to avoid an ER. Thank you all so much for being open on Saturdays and after hours, Monday through Friday."
