Dr. Satterfield is a native of Raleigh, NC where he graduated from Broughton High School. He received a BA in Chemistry from Wake Forest University and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a Junior and graduated Summa Cum Laude. After completing his MD from The Medical College of Virginia (MCV/VCU) in Richmond, VA, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) as a Junior, he completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery also at MCV/VCU. In 2000, he joined Wilson Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurology Center, now a Division of Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. Dr. Satterfield lives in Wilson, NC with his wife, Jessica, and their two children.

Dr. Satterfield is board certified/recertified in Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in General Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedics Surgery, the North Carolina Orthopaedic Association, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Wilson Medical Society. He is on staff at Wilson Medical Center and Eastern Regional Surgery Center in Wilson.

Dr. Satterfield’s volunteer and community service within the community of Wilson involves being the team physician for Barton College, Fike High School, and the Wilson Tobs Baseball Team. He is also the Medical Director for the Athletic Training Education Program at Barton College. He is one of the founding members of The Carolina Sports Medicine Institute, a non-profit organization assisting the community with education and sports medicine. He serves in a teaching capacity for PAs, medical students, and high school students as a mentor. Finally, he is very active at First United Methodist Church and also mentors/tutors at Hearne Elementary School through the Hand in Hand program.
