Dr. Howard E. Miller is an EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region orthopedic doctor specializing in general orthopedics. His educational background and extensive training enable Dr. Miller to diagnose and treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. In line with EmergeOrtho’s commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Miller works closely with his patients to develop personalized treatment plans for best outcomes.

Education and Expertise

Dr. Miller graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He then received his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, followed by a surgical internship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He returned to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for his orthopedic residency and then began practicing orthopedic surgery in Burlington, NC in 1979. He also served as chief of surgery and chief of staff for Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Miller calls upon his broad knowledge of orthopedic conditions, injuries, and diseases to diagnose and treat patients. He utilizes advanced and minimally-invasive surgical approaches to help eliminate symptoms and improve functionality, examples of which include:
