After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of the South, Dr. Whitt earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University. She then completed a medical residency and fellowship in rheumatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She has subsequently worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland as a Staff Clinician, and as an Assistant Professor at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Whitt’s clinical interests include: dermatomyositis/polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, psoriatic arthritis, and connective tissue diseases. She maintains an active interest in clinical trials.

When not at work, she is a wife, a mother of two young boys, and enjoys the company of friends, reading, nature, and listening to music.

As a physician, her primary goal is to always do what is in the best interest of the patient.
