Bone Health Recognized by IOF's "Capture the Fracture" Program
TOA's Bone Health department recently applied to be a part of the International Osteoporosis Foundation’s Capture the Fracture Program. This program highlights medical institutions from around the world who are making strides in bone health. After they review each application, they give the practice a “star” based on how well their program is doing in “capturing” and treating osteoporotic patients. TOA was awarded 4 gold stars and is now featured on their website here.
Dr. Romine Lectures On New Minimally Invasive Technique
Lucas Romine, M.D. recently presented research and lectured at the Eastern Orthopedic Association Meeting in Amelia Island, FL. The topic was “Arthroscopic, Anchorless Transosseous Rotator Cuff Repair”- which is a new, minimally-invasive technique for rotator cuff repair that does not require implants like anchors to secure the tendon back down to bone.

Dr. Kathryn Baerman Elected into The American Society of Breast Surgeons
Congratulations to Dr. Baerman, Surgery Specialist of Triangle Orthopaedic Associates, P.A. for her recent appointment as a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons. ASBS leads the nation as an advocacy organization for general surgeons who treat patients with breast disease. The society formed in 1995 and today, it has more than 3,000 members worldwide. Dr. Baerman currently participates in a fellowship program centered on breast disease treatment and surgery.
